The festival will run from 22 to 25 September 2023. Gates will open at 12:00pm on Friday 22 September.
First, read the information provided on our Volunteer Page, then submit a Volunteer Application. We will do our best to respond to your application within two weeks. Please be patient as there are many applications to process.
No, please only submit one application. If you have not heard back from your application within two weeks, please email our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteers@blossomfestival.com.au. Please be sure to double check that your application was submitted, you should have received a confirmation email with all your application details.
No, please email our volunteer coordinator at volunteers@blossomfestival.com.au
If you have been accepted as a volunteer please do not buy a ticket in the General Sale. Successful applicants will be provided a unique code to secure a Volunteer Ticket. Although most people who apply to volunteer are successful (depending on capacity/needs), we cannot guarantee everyone will be accepted.
We will refund you the difference of the ticket price you have purchased and the value of the Volunteer Commitment Bond. Your General Sale ticket will be cancelled & the remaining money will be held as your Volunteer Commitment Bond. You will then be required to access the appropriate Volunteer Ticket through the Volunteer Ticket Hub. The Volunteer Coordinator will let you know how to do this.
All new volunteers are required to pay a Volunteer Commitment Bond, which costs the same as the applicable General Release Ticket (which may vary across departments and ranges from First Release through to Fourth Release) & helps us to ensure that people commit to perform their role. Your position will not be secured until you have paid your bond and all bonds must be paid within 2 weeks of receiving your unique access code to secure your ticket. You can secure your Volunteer Commitment Bond through the Volunteer Ticket Hub.
There is a non-refundable Participation Bond of $25, which covers PPE, equipment and other related administration costs. After the event, provided you have completed all your rostered sessions, you will have a portion of your bond returned, 50% (Part Time Volunteers) or 100% (Full Time Volunteers) of the bond (minus Participation Bond & booking fees) to the card used to pay your ticket deposit. Please note, that if you paid for your bond using ZipPay or AfterPay, the booking fees will be higher and may result in a delay in returning your bond due to integration issues with our ticket system.
All bond returns, including cancellations, will be processed after the event. While we endeavour to process all returns within 2 weeks of the event, it can take up to a month to get all returns distributed, even longer if you do not shift sign in & out correctly at the event. Once your return has been processed, you will be notified by email from Humanitix. If you have not received your bond return by the beginning of November please contact our finance team at info@blossomfestival.com.au
Generally speaking, they are 4 hours long. However, some specialised roles (such as Rangers) higher level management or supervisor shifts can run between 6 and 12 hours.
Thank you for offering to get involved at our event! We do however, have a policy that volunteers must be over the age of 18 years in order to come and be a part of the crew.
We do our very best to roster volunteers together who have requested this when submitting their application. While we try our best to create a roster that pleases everyone, we also hope for some flexibility and understanding that it’s not always possible to offer all shifts together with your friends.
If you are volunteering during the build period, you will be required to camp in our designated volunteer camping zone. If you are an event volunteer, you can camp in the volunteer camping zone, general camping, or as a part of a registered group camp.
Yes, you are welcome to bring your immediate family into your camping area, however, you will not be able to bring in extended family or friends. Our general rule of thumb is if you would usually share a house/room, you are welcome to share a campsite. If you would like to camp with a large group of friends and family, we suggest camping in General Camping or booking a group site. Refer to the Camping Page for more details.
